Bitter is Better
Have you ever wondered why CBD is sometimes bitter? When you consume CBD oil in a tincture, you are tasting the cannabinoids that can be associated with earthy, grassy, and nutty tastes.
Just like medicine does not always taste the greatest with the combination of acids and bases, the bitter flavors of CBD are actually a good indicator of how good it is for you. Some people can appreciate the taste of CBD right away, and for others, it is typically an acquired taste.
How does CBD get its taste?
Here at Pure Roots, we do everything from growing our 100% USDA-certified organic hemp, to shipping it to our customers, and everything that happens in between. We believe that we have the purest CBD on the market.
Our CBD carries the full cannabinoid profile instead of isolates. This means that our products have both major and minor cannabinoid profiles as well as terpenes. The terpenes are what give CBD its bitter taste, but we think it is worth it for our customers to experience CBD fully.
Ways to get around the taste.
If the taste of CBD is off-putting, there are other ways to use CBD.
- We have flavored tinctures that can help mask the bitter taste. In addition to our original flavor, you can also try orange vanilla, mint, and wild berry flavored oils.
- You can also take the oil with any food or drink to help with the taste. CBD-infused food and beverages are on the rise. Try our flavored tinctures in your morning juice or coffee, add it to your smoothie, or use it in your favorite recipe.
- We also offer other products like flowers, pre-rolls, and pain gels. Our smokeable and topical lines are great ways to take advantage of the benefits of CBD.
In summary, sometimes it’s okay to be bitter, and it might actually be better; however, we know that you’ll never be bitter when using PureRoots tinctures. The amount of work that goes into producing them is a great indication of how much we believe in its health-boosting benefits.
Is Bitter Really Better?
Our taste bud receptors are really useful in helping us avoid harmful foods. In the case of sensing bitter flavors, this can be true sometimes. Our ancestors evolved to taste bitterness so they could recognize and avoid poison.
Not all bitterness is bad, though. We can typically tolerate bitterness at low amounts or when they’re combined with other tastes. Think about other foods you consume that are bitter like coffee, wine, dark chocolate, or arugula. These all have amazing health benefits.
So, however, you choose to try CBD, don’t let taste get in the way. You might actually be missing out on exactly what your body needs.
