In other words, there are a lot of variables that go into deciding how much CBD to take. Before trying CBD, be sure to talk to your doctor about an appropriate dosage and any potential risks. If your doctor tells you how much to use, stick to their recommendation.
If you’re using Hemp Extract or CBD oil, it will likely come in a dropper bottle as a tincture. The packaging might specify how much CBD is in the whole bottle. For example, our 1500mg Hemp Extract has approximately 50mg of CBD per serving or per dropper full. From there, you can figure out how much you need to use. At Pure Roots we recommend starting with 1/4 to 1/2 dropper and increase until you reach the desired effect.
A full dropper will not go all the way up. It usually will go almost to the bottom of the cap. This is great for maximum effect when using CBD.
1/2 DROPPERFor half a dropper you will want to fill the reservoir up to halfway. When increasing your dose for effectiveness, this is a good next step.
1/4 DROPPERFor one-quarter drop you will fill the reservoir to 1/4 the length of the dropper. This is a good starting point when beginning to use CBD.

Sometimes it’s harder to figure out how much CBD is in one drop because the packaging specifies the total amount of CBD in the entire bottle, but not the amount that will be in a single drop.
One drop is about 0.05 milliliters (mL). That is, not a full dropper — just a single drop.

Are you looking to give CBD a try for your dog or cat? When it comes to finding the right dosing for your furry friends here are some basic guidelines you can follow. Start with your pets weight.
We recommend starting your pet off between 0.1mg -0.25mg per pound of bodyweight for the first 1 – 2 weeks to see how they do.
Once your pet has been on CBD for a week or two you can start to increase the dose to 0.3mg – 0.5mg per pound of bodyweight if your pet needs a stronger dose.
A regular dose would be for: Daily health and wellness, boost immune function, old age, allergies, minor skin conditions, stimulate appetite, minor stress & anxiety, digestive issues & nausea, moderate arthritis & joint inflammation, minor aches, and pains.
A strong dose would be for: Chronic pain, severe arthritis & joint inflammation, mobility issues, epileptic seizures, cancer-related symptoms, tumors, severe anxiety, extreme nausea, and vomiting.
Dosing Frequency: Give to your pet once to twice daily at least 8-10 hours apart. To help control chronic pain and inflammation, give every 8-10 hours or as needed. For use to help control anxiety try and give at around 30 minutes before the event (thunderstorm, fireworks, leaving the home, separation, traveling with your pet).
