WHAT IS CBD?

Cannabidiol, or CBD for short, is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in cannabis. Cannabidiol is the second-most abundant cannabinoid in the plant after tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It has many potential therapeutic benefits, such as anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, and seizure-suppressant properties. It is a natural compound that comes from the leaves, flowers and stalks of hemp or marijuana cannabis.

MOST COMMON QUESTIONS

WHAT IS FULL-SPECTRUM CBD?

If you are concerned about the impact of THC, it is natural that you will have concerns about the use of full-spectrum CBD. The THC content found in full-spectrum hemp products is going to be very limited, coming in at or under 0.3% Delta-9 THC. This will not be enough THC to stimulate a psychoactive effect, but on some rare occasions, some users may experience a mild psychoactive effect due to the amount of THC present and the entourage effect found in full-spectrum products.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEMP OIL AND HEMP EXTRACT?

If you have been searching for CBD oil or hemp oil, it is likely that you have found results based on both terms. This will lead many people to believe that the terms are interchangeable or related, but this isn’t the case. Yes, there are similarities between Hemp extract or CBD oil both are one and the same and hemp oil which is very different.

Hemp Oil is made by cold-pressing the hemp seeds into an omega-rich oil much like olive oil or coconut oil which has healthy fats and omegas but does not contain CBD or other cannabinoids found in Hemp extract.

Hemp Extract is derived from the hemp plant flowers and it will contain a profile full of cannabinoids and terpenes. Our Hemp Extract is taken from our 100% certified organic flower from our indoor hemp plants only not the leaves, stems, and seeds. It is Hemp extract that is noted for the medicinal benefits that many users experience not from Hemp oil.

Hemp oil doesn’t provide the same benefit. In fact, hemp oil is only recommended for things like cooking, in producing eco-friendly paints and as a natural moisturizer. Given that most users of CBD oil are looking for health benefits, hemp oil would not be able to provide the same sort of benefit or outcome.

IS PURE ROOTS MARIJUANA?

No. All Pure Roots products come from hemp plants, not marijuana. Hemp and marijuana are close relatives, but not the same. By definition, hemp contains no more than .3% THC – the psychoactive compound that is found in higher concentrations in marijuana. By contrast, hemp naturally has higher levels of CBD, a non-psychoactive compound known for helping human bodies maintain health and overall wellness.*

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CBD AND HEMP?

Because of this potential, it has been researched for its ability to combat things like anxiety, depression, pain, inflammation, seizures, and heart disease. For those with cancer, it may even provide a natural alternative for pain and symptom relief.

WHAT DOES CBD OIL TASTE LIKE?

Even though there are diverse ways to consume CBD oil, if you are going to taste your CBD oil you will be able to taste cannabinoids. However, this isn’t a nasty experience for the user, some of the most common descriptions for the taste of CBD oil include earthy, grassy and nutty.

Some people will appreciate the taste of CBD oil straight away while research has shown that many people have developed a taste for CBD oil through use.

HOW DOES CBD OIL WORK?

The human body has a vast network of receptors, called the Endocannabinoid System. The purpose of this system is to help our body stay balanced and in good overall health, even when external factors and certain lifestyle choices diminish our well-being. CBD and other cannabinoids fit into the receptors of the Endocannabinoid System, helping the body complete its efforts to keep us in good health by supporting many of the body’s physical processes.

HOW WILL CBD MAKE ME FEEL?

The most accurate answer to that question is – it depends. Meaning, it depends on what your body needs. Each body is different, so everybody will have a different response. Since hemp extract with cannabinoids works with the body’s internal Endocannabinoid System to maintain good health, the effect is personalized based on what you have going on internally. That being said, quite a few people mention a feeling of relaxation, while others note that hemp extract helps them feel focused.* The best way to find out how CBD will work for you, is to try it for yourself!

HOW SHOULD I USE CBD OIL?

Given that there are several ways for people to consume CBD, it is only natural that people will wonder if there is the best way to consume the product. There may be a best way for an individual to consume CBD oil but there is no universally agreed way to do so. After all, people are different, they have their own preferences and every person’s body has its own unique characteristics which may mean one solution is better than the other.

However, a lot of people seem to start with tinctures made from Hemp Extract as this is a very effective way of managing your serving size. It is natural to feel nervous about taking CBD for the first time, and people want to be confident about the level they are consuming. Therefore, using a tincture and placing drops under your tongue ensures you are fully in control when it comes to how much you take.

You may also smoke it since this method is the fastest way to get CBD into your system and you will feel the effects immediately.

Another popular method is the use of topical products which absorb through your skin for targeted relief from pain, inflammation and arthritis.

You’ll find that this is a matter of trial and error and personal preference. Not all these products impact on people in the same way, so you may need to experiment with options to find the solution that works best for you. The good news is that there is something out there for everyone.

ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS WHEN TAKING CBD OIL?

WHAT PROCESS DO YOU USE TO EXTRACT THE CBD?

Each technique has its own advantages. At PureRoots Botanicals we use Supercritical CO2 extraction. This method is recommended by the Mayo Clinic as the best extraction method and is extremely efficient and free from harmful solvents. Supercritical C02 extraction is also very effective in extracting a wealth of various beneficial compounds from hemp, such as CBD and other powerful cannabinoids and terpenes often destroyed with other methods used today. This process allows us to produce high-quality products that keep the full plant profile intact not destroying the full spectrum properties we are seeking to preserve.

We use this trusted method to create the best products we can for our customers.

WHY DOES FULL-SPECTRUM CBD MATTER?

Hemp has a symphony of over 400 compounds like cannabidiol (CBD), secondary phytocannabinoids, as well as terpenes, and flavonoids. These compounds work synergistically to heighten the positive effects of cannabidiol. That’s why we believe so strongly in creating whole-plant hemp extracts. With that in mind, we also understand that sometimes we just want a boost that’s why our products are professionally formulated to give you a boost of CBD accompanied by the many other beneficial properties only found in full spectrum products.

Many companies choose to use isolate but with CBD isolate you are only getting CBD not any of the other beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes found in our products. It is like drinking a protein shake, it has its place but it is no replacement for eating whole foods to get your nutrition. Full spectrum is recognized by your body much better than isolate and gives you a whole plant profile your body will uptake and utilize more efficiently.
